Avast! can't remove this virus.

I’m paying for Avast! Internet Security 2015.

My Microsoft Edge browser had been hijacked by a virus or malware. I can’t use Edge. I did a complete scan and Avast! didn’t see an issue, nor did if fix the problem.

The malware plays audio and instructs me to call (844) 335-5620.

The message on the screen begins:

This site says … Critical programming alert. The website you were attempting to access ahead is infected with malware.

hey and welcome to the forum

good luck

Monitoring and awaiting for logs. Thanks.

Ran Malwarebytes scan. No malware found. Two log files were created. They are attached.

The important ones required (Not saying MBAM isn’t…) is FRST and aswMBR

In Malwarebytes, I followed History > Application logs. There are only two logs. There are no logs in Quarantine. Where do you suggest I look for the two logs you’ve asked for? Do I need to purchase Malwarebytes in order to generate them? I used the trial version.

Thank you.

hey agian please go to the guide i posted agian. if you scoll down after malwarebytes instruction how to run the frst tool will be there to please do this.

Two more files attached.

Will pass it on to dbrise.

Here’s the last file.

Thank you for your logs; your system is clean except for the MS Edge problem you described. Please follow the directions at this web site to clear the problem: http://malwarefixes.com/remove-fake-warning-from-microsoft-edge/ . Our tools are not allowed to make some of the changes that manually ‘clearing’ functions as.

That worked. Thank you all for your help. It is truly appreciated.
