Avast causing Computer to stutter at the exact same time every day

Hey, I’m having issues with Avast slowing down my computer to the point where it’s stuttering at exactly 16:13 every day.

I’ve been putting it off but it’s really starting to bother me. Why 16:13? Can I adjust the time? Is it a scan or an update? Why does it cause my 4.8GHz 8 core CPU with 8GB of ram to STUTTER?!

No, I don’t have other AV. I’ve been using Avast IS for a while now.

Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB33#artTitle

avast is checking for updates several times a day.
So if it was a update, you would experience the stuttering also at other times.

If it is a scan, it can only be a scan you scheduled.

What makes you believe it is avast ?
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?

I’m honestly not sure if it’s an update or scan. I’m not scheduling them myself.

I’ve opened the Task Manager to check what’s consuming the CPU and Memory when it happens, and there is Avast at the top of the list with %100 CPU usage.

Windows 10 64bit Latest SP
Avast Internet Security Version 11.2.2262

Ok, so you see avast at the top of the list.
Unfortunately that doesn’t say much.

Let’s try to narrow down the cause.
What part/process of avast is it you see that is using the cpu time ?
Does the stuttering still happen if you disable one of the shields ?

Just after I said Avast was at the top of the list, I said with 100% CPU usage.
That should very much narrow it down. It would take me up to 5 days to figure out if it were a shield causing the stutter, because unfortunately my computer becomes practically useless during the minute that it takes to stop stuttering.

I did submit a ticket with a log as the user above suggested and hopefully that returns some fix.

Also, this happened on my laptop aswell, Windows 10 Latest SP, although I’m not sure which version because it either hasn’t been doing it recently, or I’m not seeing it do it.

EDIT: It’s the “avastui.exe” process in the Task Manager.

That is strange, since that is the UI (=User Interface) part of avast.
I expected it would be avastsvc (the scanner) or instup (part of the updater).

Anyway, keep us informed please.
I’m curious about what the problem is.

I’d love to know as well.
I’ve used Avast for years and recently upgraded my security. This isn’t what I expected to have happen, but it must be solved if it means helping someone else who may have this issue as well.
