Avast Causing PC Freeze for 5-10seconds

I am having a strange issue the only seems to happen when I am playing Final fanatsy 14. Every now and again my PC would freeze for around 5-12 seconds and every single time I would find Avast in the event viewer at the time it happens. I’m not exactly sure what it’s doing or how to resolve it.

I have tried repairing the installation but it didn’t solve the issue. Is there something else I can try?

Hi,

Can you try to uninstall the Cleanup component and see if that makes a difference?
Open Avast antivirus > Settings->Troubleshooting->ADD/MODIFY COMPONENTS->uncheck Cleanup and click on CHANGE

Sorry for only now getting back to you, I uninstalled that component but had to wait to confirm if it solved the issue. Unfortunately it did not, I just experienced the same freeze accompanied by the same log I posted.

Hi,

Could you try to disable Ransomware Shield, Behavior Shield, and Password Protection one at a time and test the behaviour?
