i thought it was a good idea to try the 30 free trial of the cleanup upgrade for avast. when notified of the fact i would be charged in a few days for a full year subscription i attempted to try and find a way to turn off the automatic renewal of my license and had no success. i’ve now been charged 49.99 for something i dont want. avast you have lured me into a situation to gain my information and made it difficult for me to disconnect from such service in order to take my money. i cannot event find a email address to contact through your website to make a direct formal complaint. i want this service cut off, i will delete your program from all my computers, and i want my money refunded for this service that is honestly useless.
please someone reply as this is a straight setup and is not fair to the consumer.

Agreed, it said my email wasn’t registered in the system after I signed up and gave them my credit info. I even tried calling on the phone, all options ended up redirecting to the website with no real customer support.

The support telephone line is for program related issues (installation, running, etc.). These are handled by a 3rd party support company, for obvious reasons they don’t have any payment information or details, so they can’t handle those issues.

I had the same thing done to me last night. I did not authorize a payment and they took money out of my paypal. Not happy right now. This is not a good way to conduct a business by forcing free users into automatic payments. I will be looking to get my money back and may even complain to the BBB

There is nothing stopping you from seeking a refund and cancelling auto renewal as outlined above in Reply #1 & #2.
