Avast Cleanup Premium DEAD BUTTON.

So I go to the process of scanning my computer to do the cleanup and when I go to finish the dang clean button is DEAD! No response. Why is that?

Still dead, no response. WTH is going on?

Start by trying a reboot.
If that doesn’t resolve it, try an Avast Repair - from the main Avast UI window > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting, scroll down and select Repair App. Reboot after the repair.

Rebooted several times and got it to work once. Just tried again and nothing. Running Win7. Also there is no repair option in troubleshooting for my installation.

Well you don’t say what version you are using, so it is kind of hard to give information other than to the current version.

There is nothing to stop you trying a Repair from the Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program - select Avast antivirus, that should also have Change and Repair as options.

Set to auto update so should be latest I would think version 19.1 build 7734

no repair option in control panel, just uninstall

The latest version is 19.8.2393 (build 19.8.4793.541).

I haven’t used win7 in a very long time, but even in winXP’s add remove programs it had Change or Remove/Uninstall and that should pull up an Avast window giving a Repair option.

Do you have a Change option in Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program - select Avast antivirus ?

@Dave: There’s no repair option for ACP.

@bajjerfan: Best you wait for Stellarman, he’ll be back on Monday.

Thanks, I’m in no hurry.

Thanks for the clarification.

You’re welcome, Stellarman will most probably ask you for your logs…
I’d suggest to provide them in advance, for instructions see link below.

NP Dave.

There is a repair for the Avast product which would include the ACP.

Nope, ACP is a standalone product.

Thanks for that information.

Hi,

just to understand better the problem you have let me ask whether the button you are talking about is the one which is shown on the attached picture?

If so I would like to ask you to provide us with the logs from your machine.
You can simply send them by executing our log collector utility from this path C:\Program Files (x86)\AVAST Software\Avast Cleanup\tulogcollector.exe.
Just please add your email address there so we can join the logs with your report here.

Thank you.

Yes that’s the unresponsive button. FWIW I tried to run it again with the same result. If the log files were not auto sent then that send log button is similarly unresponsive. Might have to uninstall and reinstall the program so if you could post links/instructions for that.

bump

Yesterday I went to use a computer with Win10 that I had not used in some time. During that time of use there was a major windows update which took overnight to complete. So today I open Avast secure browser and attempt to use it in bank mode. The button is active but doesn’t produce a response. How can I fix that?
