Please help!
I have tried to uninstall avast avast cleanup service but it seems impossible. I used the "change " feature in windows programs and features . After deselecting most of the extra avast features it ran for hours! Now the CPU usage runs 85% ALL THE TIME!!! I cannot end the process via task manager and it will not uninstall! please HELP.
i’m using windows 8.1 and the avast product version is 19.1.7600.0

it seems that you somehow get unofficial version (7600) which would most likely explain why you have such problems.
Could you please try to download the latest version from our website: https://www.avast.com/cleanup or using the Beta link: http://tuneup.avast.tools.avcdn.net/tools/avast/tuneup/avast_cleanup_setup.exe and check whether you still have the problem with CPU usage and whether you can uninstall the product.
If the problems persist, please send us log files so we can investigate what is going on on you PC.
You can simply send them by executing our log collector utility from this path C:\Program Files (x86)\AVAST Software\Avast Cleanup\tulogcollector.exe assuming that you have still Avast Cleanup installed on your computer.
Just please add your email address there so we can join the logs with your report here.

I tried to loading the official copy from the link provided but ran into a bunch of install errors.
Also the the tulogcollector.exe file is not in the C:\Program Files (x86)\AVAST Software\Avast Cleanup folder?
What now?
Could you please take a screenshots of these install errors or even better try to find out setup log, upload it somewhere on the web and send us link co we can download it and check what happened?
Setup log is stored here: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup Log 2018-08-03 #002.txt where the actual name of the file will be different based on the date when you installed our product and number of attempts you executed it.
