We have 5 servers all running up-to-date Win2008R2 and around 10 pc’s with XP or Win7 SP1. All computers have the avast! client running. Recently our license expired and we have just renewed it. After installing the new license file all pc’s updated their license automatically. The servers however refuse to update their license and remain unprotected.
What I have tried so far on 1 server:
-
Reboot the server;
-
On the server updated the avast engine and definitions, as well as the program via its GUI. The program is currently on v8.0.1607 and the virus definitions are 160904.0. This seems to indicate that the virus definitions are current, but the engines remain disabled;
-
Using avast SOA run the update/install-job targeted to this server, with and without a force reinstall. Both jobs failed, saying:
“Your operating system does not meet the requirements. This edition of avast! cannot be installed on Windows Server. (20000020) [536870944]”
This is especially weird since the client is already running on the server.
Googling these error codes came up empty.
How do I get the clients on the servers to update their license?
