TURNED INTO CRAP BLOATWARE and all they want is Money i was and still want to stand behind them for another 10 years but i can’t I get rude tech support , the brill forum I have been a member of for 8 years I was actually REPREMANDED :'(by one of the administratrators -on an Open Forum for fans to help other fans- he yelled at me like child for asking a too similar question -well answer the damn first question - as fast as I helped their TEAM become number one its is backfiring -free or not what version, you treat your users with RESPECT - as I see (and saddens me) but AVG is taking back its core people that had left and there is nothing worse for a company then thinking your have a Monopoly on any software people switch quickly if you feel you are #1 so you can lose the wonderful respect you use to show people - I am NOT a newbie My wife uses the forum more then I do - but I like being a newbie maybe that will help others know My opinion on things
Well I don’t know where you get all of this from, I have checked your post history and I see no reprimand by anyone in relation to your other 5 posts ?
As far as bloat goes, avast is still highly configurable, there is nothing to stop you doing a custom install and not installing elements that you don’t want.
this still goes back to after 8-10 years of my yearly re-registration , this time when I put it in it came back with only 90 DAYS of service not the normal year - and the reply i was given by the admin people was on the phone (5 times) even made a ticket and then ignored , and and yes I WAS indeed reprimanded for posting a similar question - I don’t LIE
The ONLY True HELP I got was from two fellow forums users - One told me he suggests I just go to the page like I was a new member and ask for a key -that didn’t worked the other was to get the AVAST remover awscr reinstall the version I use ============= thanks to the cats that wrote me off forum with ideas too
try a re-install. Ensure that the licence file is on your desktop
Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
diconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel
Run aswClear
It will offer to reboot to safe mode .. Accept that
Once it has rebooted to safe mode
In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
Press Uninstall
Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
Reinstall Avast

do YOU recommend this is my only way to get it back (I still have 60 days to decide) what baffles me is what happened (of course it will be MY fault) but why has the Key I have used for a decade all of a sudden is not being accepted ? Still doesn’t address the the treatment of many of your users -I have been reading of similar attitude stories on my Tech forums
I would recommend doing a clean install by running the aswclear tool and installing a fresh copy of avast free, “DONT” use your ten year old key as that is probably the cause of your issue, fill in the details in maintenance/registration and you are done ( no need to insert key’s )
