Hi, we are having some issues with LiveDrive which we believe is due to a conflict with Avast. It appears that some files are being locked by Avast which prevents them from updating in LiveDrive, and results in continued failure of LiveDrive back ups. Anyone had any similar issues specific to LiveDrive and Avast?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member. I also don’t use LiveDrive.
If you trust LiveDrive and accept the risk of it doing something not correct, then you could add the App to the Blocked and Allowed Apps (see screenshot below)
And or (if this is connecting to the internet at a specific website, you could add that Website to the Avast Exceptions, also seen in the screenshot but not Highlighted.
Thanks for the reply and suggestion David.
LiveDrive doesnt operate as an App per say as far as i am aware as it is effectively another ‘drive’. It does not appear in the app list and cannot therefore be added to the exceptions in that way. I have already added the relevant ‘drive’ paths to the exceptions list and this does not appear to resolve the issue.
I have no idea how you might get around this, all I found on this was google AI Overview
Livedrive actually operates as a background desktop software rather than a traditional application interface. Instead of a windowed app you constantly open and interact with, it runs quietly in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) to continuously back up your files. [1, 2, 3, 4]
To manage your backups, change settings, or access your files, follow these methods:
- Desktop Control Panel: Access settings, see backup progress, and restore files by right-clicking the Livedrive icon near your clock on PC.
From what I see this app, is currently on version 1.14 , however it was bought out:
Ziff Davis purchased Livedrive in 2014, making the company part of its growing Cybersecurity division. The division also includes IPVanish, VIPRE, SugarSync, StrongVPN, Excel Micro, and Inspired eLearning, giving us the ability to protect users from a wide range of cyber threats.
