avast!: Connection Time out error

Hello All,

I’ve been using avast! Home for a week but recently it started displaying this error message…

avast!: Connection Time out error
Internet connection timeout elapsed. Continue warning?
(OUTLOOK.EXE → pop1.plus.mail.vip.re2.yahoo.com:110

Why is this happening and is there a way to disable this or increase the time out.

You can increase both your avast! timeout: Internet Mail provider > Customize > Advanced (tab)
and your email account timeout (generally, right click the email account, choose properties and the Advanced tab of settings).

But, it will be better to have a full scan with avast (at boot time), a-squared and ewido to see if there is any infection in your computer :wink:

Thanks. Increased the timeout server to 4min (from 1min) on Outlook 2002 and I actually think it was a ISP provider issue due to I was getting kicked of via VNC every minute. I cycled the power on the cable modem & the router and now seems to be stable.

Did you run a-squared and ewido to be fully cleaned?

Be used to avast forums speed ;D
