Avast continually scanning after windows 10 upgrade

I am having an issue with Avast doing full system scans several times a day since I have upgraded my computer to windows 10, and I’m not sure how to make it stop. I have checked the scheduled times for scanning (1x per day at noon when I’m at lunch and quick scans on every day except Fridays). This is very frustrating and locks up my computer. I’m not sure what is causing this, but if anyone knows how to make it stop, any help would be awesome!

You could try a ‘Repair’ of your Avast installation now that W10 has been installed.
Go to Control Panel/Programs and Features/Avast and choose Uninstall/Change.
When Avast options appear, scroll and select “Repair” when finished be sure to REBOOT.

the only option I have is to uninstall, there is no repair option. Looks like I’ll need to uninstall and re-install…

Did you scroll up / down

Did you?

I did, Windows 10 makes everything look funny :-[
I went ahead and did the re-install and am going to see if that works.

Yes it will take some getting used too.

If i am wrong ask bob

Start button / program and features / avast …

On Win10 you repair like this Right click on the start button > select Program and Features > select Avast > select repair

I’ve also found using the ‘Search Bar/Function’ in W10 very helpful for finding anything.
