Avast crashes my drive in Vista 5472 x64 on reboot

I have had this problem with the Avast crashing my drive on install reboot since the 5384 version. I was using a 6 year old machine so thought that was the problem. I have just built a brand new machine with dual core, 2 GB of RAM, and plenty of power. I have installed the XP Pro x64 on one drive, and the Vista 5472 Premium X64 on the other. I downloaded and installed the most recent version of the Avast Home on the XP x64 and it works just fine. I installed the same version on the Vista x64 and when it rebooted, it crashed the Vista drive.

Has anyone else had this problem? I don’t understand why it will not work on the Vista on either of my machines, totally different machines, different hardware and capabilities, and yet, I get the same problem on both. Vista folks say it is my machines, others say they have the same problem. So…I’m her asking for some feedback.

Thanks!

Please send the contents of the \windows\minidump folder (from the Vista partition) to my email address.

Thanks

I’m running a new install of Vista Beta2 X64 build 5384 with Avast Home 4.7 build 4.7.844. I have encountered two problems.

  1. The Vista Security app does not recognize my Avast AV software. I did not have thus issue with either XP Home SP2 or XP PRO-64.
  2. Vista crashes and reboots when I run an AV drive scan on the C: drive.
    Known Issues?
    Fix?

Sory I’m not a vista user so can’t be of much help.

However, before trying to troubleshoot this problem it would be best to have the latest build of vista, as this Topic relates to 5472, your version is earlier. http://www.vistaultimate.com/ also http://www.vistaultimate.com/vista-5472.htm
