I had avast! working fine for a few months… now when I restarted, none of the resident scanners is on, and when I try to start avast! I get the following error messages:
“Storage cannot be created for the “Splash” task.”
Unknown error: Configuration is not loaded properly. Error: dbsCreateObject.
Unknown error: Program cannot save parameters to the storage! (Error: dbsCreateObject)
I just bought a new external hard drive, but I don’t see how this could screw up my antivirus. The only reasons I mention it are because a.) it’s the only change I’ve made to my system and b.) the error has something to do with storage (although I would assume that storage means memory, in this case).
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Restarting / Re-installing doesn’t seem to fix it, despite the fact that it was working before.
