Avast cuts off EA's Sims 4 Gallery

I don’t understand this! I pay excellent money for protection, and the one thing I use every day is 95% disconnected! I know it’s Avast. My other anti-virus protection on my other computer has no problem at all. I have done just about everything under the sun, like opening ports, making sure my firewall accepts EA and Origin.

And secondly, I don’t really appreciate getting the run around with the chat option.

Bottom line: If Avast can’t fix this or at least respond to me, we’re history!

:frowning:

It’s been reported to Avast let’s see if that gets you a reply.

Hello Wallis, I would like to help you with the reported problem.

First of all, as I understand from your post here, there is some kind of feature in Sims 4 called Gallery and so I googled and read this article https://help.ea.com/en-ca/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/the-sims-4-gallery/ about it. Would you be so kind and share more details about “cuts off EA’s Sims 4 Gallery”? Do you mean the content is not downloaded? Is there any error message or anything that would help to understand the issue more?

Also, if you disable Avast by right-click on Avast icon in tray → Avast shields control → Disable for e.g. 1hr. Once this is done, does the gallery work or not?

Any maybe last question - when did it start to happen? Was it like working in the past and after e.g. some Avast program update it stopped to work?

Once we have more information from you we can move forward  Thank you for your cooperation, Petr

I’m having a similar problem. I try to launch Sims 4 and it never launches. Origin does, but the game itself doesn’t. I am on a PC and don’t get any error messages.

Hi mmillikan, would you be so kind and run the support tool (https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/33/) and let us know the identificator of tha package so we can look at log files? Thank you. Petr

I did some more testing and discovered it was not a problem with Avast. I appreciate your reply to my post and your effort to help me.

It might be helpful to others if we knew what did cause the problem.

It was a mod I missed when I first started troubleshooting. I took that out and it worked.
