Some parts of avast are saved in C:\Users\All Users\Alwil Software\Avast5 and C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5
I don’t know how the behavior will be…
I don’t think it will be a problem installing it on other folder.
But using DeepFreeze will bring back a messed situation: something in the last version, something not.
Asyn is right ive read also some users having problem installing on D:
But you can try it if it works for you.
This what im thinking for so long but didnt ask help for it and cant seems find a majority for Avast on D:
I dont know what will happen if it install on D: which is not froze but what will happen if an updates installed? is it all update will be putted on D:? Hopefully the avast team will explain for this.
It should work… But, remember, there is always the Windows Registry on C: …
What it will be much easier is to put avast on C and use a program that allows it to update (DeepFreeze is not an option for me).
Last question:
In default install avast, after update, which folder content vps? Avast detect vps in registry or which file (in folder)?
Thanks you very much
Hey guys just wanted to let ya know, if you use deep freeze with data igloo it will work. I have a small flat that I am using it in and the updates work perfectly.
Data igloo needs to redirect the avast folder to a thawed parition and all will work.
data igloo is another application that the makers of deep freeze have. You can download it from their site for free, and it works in conjunction with deep freeze for things like this.
