Avast & DeepFreeze

If I install Avast on driver D: and DeepFreeze on Driver C:. Is there any problem when Avast detect vps version when I restart my computer

Some parts of avast are saved in C:\Users\All Users\Alwil Software\Avast5 and C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5
I don’t know how the behavior will be…

Some users had problems, after not installing avast to c:
But if you should test it, please tell us your results… Thanks…!

I don’t think it will be a problem installing it on other folder.
But using DeepFreeze will bring back a messed situation: something in the last version, something not.

Another folder…? Don’t know…
Another drive - sometimes was, at least some said so.

It should make no difference…

Driver C: never change, D: can change when restart.
Last answer? Avast detect vps version after update or before update when restart my computer?

If you’re using DeepFreeze, the vps version will be always the same (the one when you’ve frozen the system), won’t it?

frozen driver C: (not D:), avast on D:.
Are you sure?

Your avast installation will get corrupted… most probably.

Asyn is right ive read also some users having problem installing on D:

But you can try it if it works for you.

This what im thinking for so long but didnt ask help for it and cant seems find a majority for Avast on D:

I dont know what will happen if it install on D: which is not froze but what will happen if an updates installed? is it all update will be putted on D:? Hopefully the avast team will explain for this.

Btw! im using Avast and DF

It will be put where it should be. In the installation folder (on D) AND in the programdata / user folders on C (if anything is updated there).

If I set and move programdata / user folders to D:
It work OK?

It should work… But, remember, there is always the Windows Registry on C: …
What it will be much easier is to put avast on C and use a program that allows it to update (DeepFreeze is not an option for me).

Last question:
In default install avast, after update, which folder content vps? Avast detect vps in registry or which file (in folder)?
Thanks you very much

<folder where you’ve installed avast>\Setup
is where the files are stored.

Avast detect vps version in here or registry?

Hey guys just wanted to let ya know, if you use deep freeze with data igloo it will work. I have a small flat that I am using it in and the updates work perfectly.

Data igloo needs to redirect the avast folder to a thawed parition and all will work.

I don’t know what “data igloo” is mean? ???, may you explain for me, please

data igloo is another application that the makers of deep freeze have. You can download it from their site for free, and it works in conjunction with deep freeze for things like this.
