AVAST DELETED MY SLAVE DRIVE

After I installed avast it IMMEDIATLY started deleting or altering files in my second drive and listed them viruses…FROM BIOS. I did’nt notice untill I got back from answering my front door.

When I stopped it’s scan, windows restarted and my entire second drive was not only blank but unaccessable. I tried but could’nt find a way to restore the files or the drive. So like any idoit would, I uninstalled avast and went to system restore thinking the drive would be recovered.

Now my pc shows a blank screen. Bios shows that my primary slave is not detected. Every version of windows installation fails and system recovery discs are not working.

I am not computer savvy.
I have no money for repairs, and I’m willing to loose all files to restore my computer. I have a sony vaio from 2003

PRIMARY IDE MASTER : WDC WD2500BB-98DWA
PRIMARY IDE SLAVE : NOT DETECTED
SECONDARY IDE MASTER : PIONEER DVD-RW DV
SECONDARY IDE SLAVE : HL-DT-ST GCE-8523B

PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

Look, avast does not delete anything without your permition and order…
avast does not change or modify any BIOS setting either…
Do you have any other antivirus installed in this computer?
Which is your second drive?
I see your primary, your DVD and your CD drives…
If you choose autodetect, what does BIOS say? Nothing? Are the cables well plugged?
