Hi,
I had Kaspersky 6.0 trial installed. After trial ended I uninstalled Kaspersky and installed Avast!
But now every time I start my computer I get error:
“avast! detected that the following program is running: Kaspersky antivirus.
The on-access scanner module of this program and the on-access scanner of! Avast! CANNOT be active at the same time.
As a result, the avast! Main on access scanners – Standard Shield, P2P Shield and Instant Messaging Shield – were disabled.”
Kaspersky directory is deleted and as far as I can see there are not any Kaspersky services running.
Can you tell me what could be wrong? :

probably some files from a directory other than the Kaspersky directory.
maybe there is a Kaspersky removal tool that completely eliminates it, pieces the uninstaller leaves behind.
scan the registry (careful!) for left over fields.
check the services list
check startup tab in msconfig
all these changes should be done with caution.

Run this utility to remove all traces of Kaspersky from the registry:
