seems it comes bundled with some unwanted extras (PUP = Possible Unwanted Program)
you can always turn off PUP detection or exlude if you want this program

It is not bundled with any such adware! It is probably detected because of some generic code, this is safe! No toolbars, it is a product for cable TV subscribers so of course there is no unwanted bundle wares!

Have you reported it here. https://support.avast.com/ > avast virus lab

I just contacted them, hopefully they will fix this issue.

If you checked virus total, you can see that the file is signed by a safe company so should not be flagged.

they are mostly legit programs ... it is just that they come bundled with unwanted extras, toolbars, search engines, change start page, ads......

Help! I’m a legitimate software vendor/advertiser/toolbar maker! My stuff isn’t malicious, why are you listing it as a PUP?

F-secure added detection for it as Adware.Downloader.AX

If the detection won’t be removed I’ll just have to add to exculsions and maybe disable pup’s.
