Avast detects hexchat as a virus?

hi friends,

i was using Hexchat latest version without a problem with Avast free edition for almost two months now but since yesterday Avast tags it as a virus. I did not update hexchat (no updates available) Avast is up-to-date. In the virus chest it says teh follwing information about Hexchat and its components

hexchat.exe → FileRepMetagen [DRP]
is-2M1E3.tmp → Win32-Dropper-gen [Drp]
is-7VC37.tmp–> same a above
is-851N3.tmp → same as above
is-S84CK.tmp → same as above

then i reinstalled HEXCHAT, then it didnt even let me reinstall it. So could anyone please tell me why this happens? How do i fix this?

thanks

You can report a possible FP here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php

I did from the dialog form that the Avast provides when it detects a virus (underneath it says report false positive). But how do i know it will get fixed, do i get a notice message via email to inform me. Because at teh moment i have my Hexchat uninstalled!

They’ll only contact you in case they need further info.

I dont know its right to ask but typically how long do they take to fix a false positive?

24-48 hours.
