Avast didn't find Lop.com Adware

Hello

I’m new to avast. I have installed avast home edition because my previous AV(bitdefender) didn’t clean or quarantine the virusses on my pc and didn’t clean Lop.com adware. I have scanned with avast for it but it can’t find it

Can i send this adware programs to you Alwil to detect them in the future or must i attach this files to this message?
I have also Ad-Aware-Spybot S&D and spywareblaster

Avast is an anti-virus with limited malware capabilities (like all av’s). To get rid of malware you would need either Ewido, Spybot, Adaware or windows defender

avast in common with other primarily anti-virus solutions does cover some adware and spyware, for full protection it is best to have specialist anti-spyware/adware programs, giving a multi-level protection.

Some download locations - If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it.

  1. Ad-Aware
  2. Spybot Search and Destroy
  3. Spywareblaster Don’t install this until you are clean.

Can you send the samples to virus@avast.com ?
You can zip and password the files… Inform a link to this thread and the password used.
You can send the files to Chest and, from there, resend to Alwil for analysis.
