I have run the installation of a program called ActivePresenter that appears to contain trojan Win32 Agent BANF. By some reason Avast didnt intervene when I ran the install pack, allowing one of infected dlls to be unpacked by installer. However when I right-clicked on installation program later to scan it by Avast (the reason for doing that was rather vague, but the installation went wrong and ActivePresenter never launched) Avast immediately warned me of the trojan and put the file in chest.
I wonder why Avast didnt warn me of a trojan when I executed the installation program first time with administrative privileges? Is this because of wrong settings or what? What settings should I re-check?
Could be behavior check after install, could also be a False Positive
To check, upload and test the program at www.virustotal.com / www.metadefender.com
If scanned before, always click rescan for a fresh result
You may post link to scan result here
Some malicious behavior can only be detected when it actually takes place.
e.g.
I create a program that only show you some text on the screen.
Completely harmless/normal, right ?
But you run it and in the text I am calling you names.
Now it isn’t so harmless/normal anymore.
