avast didn't work for us

Well, after multiple attempts avast has not worked out very well for my particular user group.

This is a really good forum, and I’ll prob visit the general section again.

Again, as always, I appreciate the offering of you free software, but it just did not do the trick for us…

Well, I (and I guess a few others) are in the dark, here.
Had a look at some of your earlier posts, couldn’t find a “Beer Guy”, not any indication of help wanted with removing malware.
(This isn’t a bad place to ask for help. :))
What was it that caused so much havoc, for which you seem to hold Avast at least semi-accountable?
What on earth did “Beer guy” do to your computer?

Ignorance. ;D Some people think that just downloading AVAST and letting it stand on the pc does the trick. No, you have thorough scans to do and scans at start-up from time to time. You have to make sure it is updated (although this is done automatically most of the time but for the program you must do it manually). Also, I found out most people don’t understand the registering process to get updates and how to renew it and they are finding it complicated on AVAST. Points to improve. :smiley:

But did have a bad expierence throughout the avast saga. Trust me gdiloren, I do maintain my PCs properly with program updates, clean ups, scans, etc.

I will come back to chat more, now days I usually only hit the general thread, as the others are not too usefull for me, but I do see a lot of usefull links posted here, and also see a lot of knowledgable techs here.

You still haven’t stated what the actual problem/s were with the application.
And I don’t think it’s intended that Avast be installed on a sega.

I think you will find sega is a typo when the intended word would most likely be saga.

Seriously, I don’t think having alcool is a good thing doing pc maintenance. ;D You need all your brain and concentration. To tell AVAST is crap is rather unfair in this sense. Million of people trust AVAST and use it since many many years. For my own self, it’s not even that it’s FREE, it’s THE BEST I’ve had it so far on my pcs :slight_smile: and I don’t think I’m from another planet!!! :wink: Cheers, AVAST HOME EDITION :smiley:
