I have noticed on one of my laptops that–while Avast! is running–it is not running correctly. When the Application Updater pop-up appears, “nothing” happens when I click on it. Similarly, when in the user interface, the program disappears when I click on the Security tab. In both instances, a second Avast! icon will appear in the system tray for a second or two and then disappear. Am I infected? If so, what do I need to look for? Or is Avast! merely acting up and I should just uninstall/re-install?
First try a repair. Go to Control Panel>Programs and Functions>Add or remove software>In the list of installed programs double click on Avast
At the bottom is an option called repair, choose this and le it run.
