Since forever I’ve set the Program update option to automatic.
When Avast 2014 first came out, two of the computers on my office (1 one the 3th day and other on the 5th day) auto updated to the new version but the rest of does not update to the new Avast 2014. I don’t want to do it manualy and I see that despiste version 9.0.2006 being release the old avast says on update tab that “There is a new Avast version avaliable: Last version 9.0.1501”.
Is it a bug and will I have to manualy order all other computers to update?
What is happening? :o
Yes, I thought about it too and it’s the answer for not doing it all at the same time.
But old avast keeps saying that the new version is 1501 and since the release of 2006 no computer updated to 2014…
That’s what is worring me.
The 8.0.150x or 9.0.150x versions were like an interim version number the .1500 initially was used whilst compatibility was checked. If it passed compatibility then the update should have completed and you ended up with version 9.0.2006.
This might just be because you still have avast 8.0 on these systems, is this correct ?
If so I would suggest doing a manual update on one of them and see how that goes before trying it on the others.
Personally I wouldn’t put the Program Updates on Automatic (leave it on Ask) as if there is something intensive/important running in the background, etc. I don’t think you would want a program update going on.
Well I don’t have a personal experience of the .1500 interim build number, but there are some such reports in the forums and on completion of the update they have had 9.0.2006.
