help. i keep running Avast and Malwarebytes and i keep getting the same results. malware claims to clean and i get the same infected items when i run it again and Avast ends the version 5 scan with no threats found when there clearly are. see the alert email i receive.

Hi, no expert, but a few basic ideas that may help.
Look in your taskmanager for an entry called “indexing helper” (under processes. You should tick the box that says "show processes from all users.) If present, stop it.
Clean your temporary files. ATF Cleaner, hosted by [urlhttp://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html]MajorGeeks[/url] will be effective.
Try a second (third) opinion scanner. Superantispyware has a free version that might detect/clean different items on the day than MBAM.
Another is Cureit by DrWeb. There are also instructions at that link on how to use it.
