Usually after every virus definition update, avast used to popup and inform me that the update has been succesfull but for about 3 days I started not getting those popups even though I have them enabled.Oh and software updater doesn’t seem to work properly since there has been an adobe flash player update and it didn’t notice me of anything.
I know that all these problems are probably bugs or something wrong with my avast but I don’t really know what to do to fix it, I tried repairing it and it still didn’t work.
I’ve been receiving regular vps updates and notification of software updates.
Are you sure that it’s not you firewall that’s not permitting avast access ???

Avast is updating but it just doesn’t display the popups sometimes, yesterday for example i got a pop up telling me that the virus definitions have been updated but today when I first turned on the pc I got no popups even though the definitions were updated.
Have you ever thought that there hasn’t been a virus definitions update today, which may have been the case early today ?
You may well have got the 130314-0 which has not been reported on the avast virus-update-history.
If you check the http://www.avast.com/virus-update-history page, the last VPS for yesterday was 13.3.2013 - 130313-1 and the first VPS for today was 14.3.2013 - 130314-1. So there doesn’t appear to have been a 130314-0 today or it was withdrawn and now we have - 130314-1.
