Avast! Doesn't like underscores?

So I am trying to activate Avast! Pro with my email address that has an underscore in it. There are red borders around the fields (when they are blank) where I enter my name, email, city, country and company. I enter my name, red border disappears, enter the email, red border says, enter everything else and the only field with a red border that remains is the email address.

Here is where things get strange, I delete the underscore from my email address, and the red border is gone (I don’t press ok, because that isn’t my email address anymore without the underscore)

I have tried copy and pasting the email address instead of typing it, still wont accept. Delete the underscore and like magic my email address is valid. Seems like an oversight in the programming of Avast, perhaps underscore is mistakenly being treated as a special character that ordinarily cannot be used in email addresses.

All I really care about is getting my Avast subscription activated! Anyone have any advice?

get a extra mail account and use that......like Gmail.... it is free

Thanks for the advice. I have considered using a new email address, however I am uncomfortable doing this since I have used the same yahoo account for many years and prefer all of my information to be in one place.

Any other recommendations?

Gmail doesn’t allow spam, at least not for me. 8)
I have both a Yahoo and a Google account.

you can setup auto-forward with your gmail account!

everyone should have two mail accounts…
one that you use for comunicating, and one you use on the internet when registering, news letters…etc etc
this way you may avoid/reduce the amount of spam recived

yahoo also have a trick for this, you can sett up mail alias, and when you start reciving spam on it, you just delete the alias address
Yahoo mail alias. http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&y=PROD_ACCT&page=content&id=SLN3240

however, i would use a real address for registering avast
since you like Yahoo, why not get a extra Yahoo account…it is free
