It’s been some days now that avast! doesn’t open at startup and I have to launch it manually… How can I fix this problem?
If you have ccleaner (and I recommend you do), check under tools - startup that avast is enabled.
it’s not in the list… :-S
Odd. You could try a repair - (control panel, add/remove programs). Or if that fails an uninstall/fresh install - there are lots of threads on this forum that give the correct way to do that.
Beyond that I’m afraid you’ve reached the limit of my knowledge - so report if it fails and wait for some further guidance.
What is your Operating system (OS) ?
It should be there, see image, that is for XP system location, but it should be there for other OSes, just a different path to avastUI.exe.
What other security software do you have installed, firewall, anti-spyware, etc. especially those that monitor/block new startup items ?
What processes are running in Task Manager (XP OS), there should be avastSvc.exe and avastUI.exe ?
In Vista, win7 the avastSvc.exe will be displayed as avast! Antivirus, it will be in the Services tab, the avastUI.exe would be listed in the Processes tab.
