Avast doesn't open up

Hello all. Lately, when I double-click on the Avast icon on desktop, Avast doesn’t open up. Instead, the mouse cursor keeps being in “loading mode”.

Why is that? How can I resolve it?

Why the need to use the desktop icon ?

Avast should run on startup, are you seeing an Avast icon in the notification area (bottom right of the screen) ?

  • What Operating System are you using ? is it up to date (version number) ?
  • What avast! version free/Pro/AIS/Premier e.g. 18.4.2338 (see about avast!) ?

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
