Avast don't connect avast servers?

Hi!

I’ve Win10 (new laptop) and I installed Avast 10.

  • Internet is working (tested during and after installation with different browsers)
  • I was able to download online installer which gave error (not connection)
  • I downloaded offline installation file - ok - installed ok
  • Installed Avast cannot connect update servers
  • all the time internet is working
  • there is nothing at FW logs
  • I manually allowed avast programn internet connection - no help

Any ideas?

hey and welcome to the forum.

what was your previous antivirus program before avast?
have you uninstall that before installing avast?

any third party firewall like comodo,outpost that could block the connection? most likely not this one seens you have internet access as you said in your post but asking anyway.

have you check the update option in the avast interface that is check for updates automatically?

There was a little problem with the avast servers a bit earlier.
Are you still having problems ?

  • There was no AV or 3rd party FW programs - brand new laptop from Lenovo
  • Have to check that automatically update option - yesterday was 1st test

Laptop is not mine but my friend what I am helping. Have to get teamviewer connectio what it looks like today…

Almost all new computers come with a trial version of a third party AV (Unless it was a special order). Most likely McAfee.
