Avast dont work with Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

hi all

I’m using Avast along with Kaspersky Anti-Hacker Version1.5 ( it’s a Firewall) for more than a year and had no problem with them but after updating Kaspersky Anti-Hacker to the latest version (V 1.7), Avast stop working and state that i should uninstall Kaspersky AntiVirus. i dont know why Avst confusing Kaspersky Anti-Hacker with Kaspersky Anti-virus !!! i’m very sure that i dont have another Antiviruse on my PC …
i already sent an e-mail to the support more than a month ago but didn’t get any reply from them …
I don’t wana lose Avast nor Kaspersky Anti-Hacker because they are the best in what they meant to do…

this is the info you need:

  • Avast 4.6 Home Build: Apr2005(4.6.652), Xtreme Toolkit version 1.9.4.0
  • VPS: Compilation date: 05/27/2005, File Version : 0521-4
  • XP SP2 Home, Up2date
  • Kaspersky Anti-Hacker 1.7

i appreciate any help to solving this problem ;D

That is correct because Kaspersky apparently uses the same process name for its AV program as well and avast is detecting that and doesn’t want to cause a conflict with two resident AVs installed.

This has been previously discussed on the forums so a search for ‘Kaspersky Anti-Hacker’ without the quotes should provide more information.

i did a search and found many post discussing this mater but non of them have reached a solution for the problem :frowning:

as least can someone suggest a GOOD firewall and FRIENDLY to use as Kaspersky Anti-Hacker??

ZoneAlarm, Sygate, Outpost, Kerio… best of all, all of them have freeware versions available, and all of them work as a charm with avast! Which one will you chose, it’s up to you. There is no such a thing as best firewall out there, it’s your personal choice. Every one of them works great, and do not forget human factor as well. We are safe as much as we make and keep ourselves safe.

Cheers !

I recommend ZoneAlarm Free  Wich has decent protecion and ain’t too have on recources too
