avast download link broken

When I tried to download the avast free antivirus, it took me to cnet.com and I got an error saying the file could not be found.

Install this link from Avast Freehttp://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#tab4.

Reboot after installing. Upgrade your definitions. The newest version is 5.0.677. If for some reason a lower version is installed, a button on the main GUI in red will say “Upgrade” to the right of it…just click on it and you will get the upgraded version.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.

@ SafeSurf
You will find that this redirects to cnet if it is the English version they are trying to get. Some other language versions also redirect to other services to download.

@ kaiser101
If you want the English language version try this direct download link, http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free_eng.exe (English only)

@ DavidR.

Thank you for the direct download files.

You’re welcome.
