Avast! EasyPass password manager is now available

Didn’t see any official announcement here on the forum yet, so just thought I would post it for a heads-up, in case anyone is interested.

I’d like to know if this will be integrated into avast! IS or
if it will always be a separate program ???

Thanks Gargamel…!
Again no information about this from Avast. :-\

Off Topic: It will be good if on site we have an automatic counter of users… Something like Mozilla did with Firefox downloads (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryansnyder/5554582678/). Some parts of the site say 175 million users, other parts say 160 million users…

Yeah right, Avast did it again, £9.99 and $9.99. Which one is it and where can I download a trial?

My guess of you follow the above link you are at the US$ page.,If you follow that through using the Add t cart, it is still in $US if you were to elect to use the PayPal method of payment you may well be charged in $ not £.

I’m starting to think Avast! gives “scoops” to C-net as part of whatever partnership the two have (thats where I found out about it, Cnet), thats why things get announced over there before here.

They might loose their (precious…??) community rather fast, if this should be true.

I’m very happy with KeePass. It"s free and unlimited.

The only information I could find is here: http://public.avast.com/mkt/20111006_EasyPass.pdf

Does anybody know if there is a trial version of the tool?

No idea.

Although I had translated the special avast interface, I can’t answer for sure about the trial period.
The most GUI entries referred to license apply and not about the trial period… ::slight_smile:

Just bought it. This evening I will try to migrate from Kaspersky Password Manager to avast one, and I will inform how it works.

Thanks.

First impressions: it’s really based on Roboform and it has secure online sync option to avast server for password saving not only in PC.

It’s what I see in About page:

YLAP did you get lifetime licence for Avast EasyPass?

PS:You are true Avast fan.

Bye

No ;D I paid for it ;D

At the moment I’m migrating from KPM to avast! EasyPass. It’s not easy, databases are not compatible with each other, so I’ll have to visit site by site all my sites and re-enter the passwords for avast to remember it. One thing I hope for - maybe it will be more compatible with FF updates. KPM is real pain in the ass in term of updates, it takes two weeks or more after each new build of Firefox… 5 to 6 > KPM is useless, 6 to 7 > KPM even crashes FF, 7 to 8 > will be the same story for sure…

In conclusion - avast! Easy Pass seems to work as it should, although I need some time to get use to new interface as I’ve used KPM for two years until now I think.

And it feels very strange to me there is no official news about it from avast!.. I hope I haven’t bought rogue software, LOL ;D ;D

Nice its begin now we might see soon this, Android and Mac i guess. Glad you like it YLAP. The interface isnt a big problem you will get used to it. ;D At least there no bugs that what avast! will like to hear from it.

Wondering if they will add the section for it… As there none.

They haven’t even officially announced it here on the forum yet, although I guess there is a chance they saw I posted about it so they did not see any need to.

But yeah, if it does not get its own section (probably should, its a stand-alone), it should at least get added to the titles of one of the existing support threads.
