I have a problem and I thought noticed that I’m not alone with this problem.
When I’m downloading (especially with Steam and Origin) Avast analyses all the data and explodes my CPU counter.
I already tried to add Steam in Avast exception’s but it didn’t worked.
How can I deactivate the web agent for Steam and Origin downloads?
Thank you for your help and sorry if my english make your eyes to bleed.
I use free Avast in Windows 10 Pro (so with Windows Defender too) and from the beginning I use Avast.
I discovered this problem when I got a fibre connexion, before it was too slow to be notable, now Avast uses all the power of the CPU and tortures my computer.
The first link you send me can be a solution, but I suppose it will impacts the others Avast processes, is there a way to only deactivate the web agent for specific applications?
And I don’t understand the purpose of your second link :-\
I suppose it will impacts the others Avast processes
No.
is there a way to only deactivate the web agent for specific applications?
No need to disable webshield. You can add the process of origin and Steam in web shield exclusions:
It is still available via Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting>Open old settings>components>webshield>exclusions>Processes to exclude
I tried to add Steam in the Avast exceptions but it continues to uses most of my CPU :-
And if I limit the Avast CPU usage will it restrains my connexion speed because of the slowness of Avast to analyse?
You can try turning off File Shield.
It should solve the access denied issue, but it might also remove the problem with CPU load, since it might be File Shield causing it.
Lets hope the issue with CPU is not in File Shield
No problem, that worked !
I followed your steps and that’s the ID of the file: ZOVU4, the file in the FTP is named .@gmail.com.zip with virus as password.
