Do any users notice that there is less time available to use your laptop/netbook on battery with default power conservation settings?
Does anybody know if it can differentiate between desktop or laptops,/netbooks to conserve power?

Nope, no laptop/netbook-specific settings, sorry.
Avasr is installed on relative’s netbook and it doesn’t seem to have an deleterious effect on battery drain, just curious about other peoples experiences…
thanks for lightning fast response!
Sure, your welcome.
No problems on my Dell Laptop and Dell Netbook.
avast does not have a conservative power scheme.
Anyway, you can schedule on demand scans to be paused/do not initiate while using batteries.
I’m using it on netbook as well as i can’t really see any difference. Not in performance itself or the battery life. On-access is designed to have as little impact as possible. If you avoid running on-demand scan, i think you should be just fine.
No problems with my Dell.
There’s no significant impact in battery life by using Avast in notebook unless you’re doing scanning (e.g. full scan). Doing full scan require some processor power and therefore reducing your battery life.
If you need to conserve your battery, you can start with reducing your display brightness, turning off your wifi, bluetooth, keyboard backlighting if you’re not using it, and lowering your sound volume should help you in order to conserve your battery.
No problem on my Toshiba Laptop.
No noticeable effect on my win7 netbook, but that is very frugal on power twin core Intel Atom chip. It is no speed freak ;D
Ok, as we already started to list our NBs (without problems)…
No problems with my Asus Notebooks/Netbooks.
No problems with my Acer either, i get about two and a half hours out of a 4800 mAH 6 cell watching dvds
I can’t really say what impact it has on battery life since I never run this machine on the battery unless the power goes out and only then long enough to shut it down. I can say that it has no noticeable performance impact otherwise though.
