Avast protects my OE6 perfectly, but does not connect with my Gmail.
Why is this ?

If you get a error/message, what is the exact error ?
Gmail is cloud based and is already protected by 2 of their own AV products.
(Downloading anything attached to your cloud based email would be checked by Avast)
OE6 resides on your computer and Avast checks any email you receive via Outlook Express.
