Avast Emergency Update disabled in Task Scheduler

Hi there,

I’m running Win 10 Pro 64 bit build 15063.632, freshly installed yesterday and fully updated on a desktop gaming PC.

For Avast I’m running version 17.7.2314 (build 17.7.3600.0), virus definition 171007-0

i was checking Task Scheduler for an unrelated problem and I noticed that the Avast Emergency Update entry’s Status was disabled. Avast is however showing in the Windows system tray and appears to be running normally. No shield controls are off. I can manually check for program updates and virus definitions and it does that and says it’s up to date.

I’m not sure what Avast Emergency Update is normally supposed to look like in Task Scheduler, so I don’t know if what i’m seeing is normal.

Here is what the entry looks like.The entry shows 6 hours between Last Run and Next Run, so does this normally run on a 6 hour cycle?

Avast Emergency Update is a service that is supposed to update Avast’s standard updater can’t update your antivirus in case it has been altered or you’re under a malware attack. So, it is very important for you to have this service enabled in the case of a malware attack. I suggest you enable it.
