Mine shows 17.1.3394.30 right now, seen a post where someone had .42 on the end, is there a trick to receiving it? my machine sleeps at night, and I usually wake it up in the morning soon as I get up, or have it do some tasks over night, video encoding, defrag at times or etc.
Should I do one more clean install with offline installer?
Personally I would wait rather than do a clean install as there is no guarantee it would be for a different build number.
Mine shows 17.1.2286 as version and 17.1.3394.30 as build.
I’m in no rush to get any update I will let it happen naturally or when informed about a new program version/update in the forums.
I don’t see the connection for the topic title Avast Emergency Update Question.
Although the Avast Emergency Update, AvEmUpdate.exe runs according to a schedule task (1:30AM and 1:30PM on mine). But I would periodically reboot to trigger it, I always shutdown my system at night, so in theory I would have it if there was one available.
Oh ok thank you, yeah I kinda leave it on, as sometimes I remote Desktop from phone at night to do various things lol, or start some maintenance task, or just wake it up when I wake up in morning lol
Well Upstairs System did get it, shows 17.1.3394.42 after restart, no idea what the new build fixes though, tried to get a picture, but of course network doesn’t wanna cooperate right now lol
If there are no problems, I would just leave things as they are.
Micro updates are done through VPS updates so you should receive them automatically.
If there is a real emergency update (e.g. for a security hole that need to be fixed right away), avast will use a push update and you will receive it almost instantly when the machine (and you ;D ) wake up.
If you want, you can always initiate a manual update to see if there is something new, but that is normally not needed.
