i have avast 4.6.623. windows me, XP sp2. when avast scans,i get a message saying, cannot scan msi config.when i click on report,it tells me internal program error (42003) config msi.dont know what this means. i did avast repair. didn’t help. how can i fix this? thanks… ??? ??? ???

Are you using Windows Millenium (Me) or XP SP2?
Do you know the full name of the file (including its path)?
Error 42003 means AVAST_UNWANTEDEXCEPTION Exception found in code
Why don’t you update your avast to the last 4.6.763?
if i’m update to v.4.6.723, internal program error will be fixed?really?
We don’t know that for certain, but when trying to rectify a fault it is best to be working with the latest version, not to mention any enhancements, fixes, etc. that have occurred since you last update the program.
No point in trying to correct a fault and then update and possibly have to do it all over again.
With security programs such as anti-virus, firewall, anti-malware, etc it is best to use the most updated versions of these programs. As Tech & David suggested above, bug fixes, and other enhancements are there for added security which you do not have using out dated versions. 
after update to 4.6.723, my avast have a bproblem. it can’t access virus chest, and the name of problem is “RPC communication is fail”. how i can fix it?thanks…
