Avast error with Outlook

Hi, I recently uninstalled Avast home via ‘control panel’, ‘uninstall software’, because it was making several programs run very slowly. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks, but now I’m getting this error when I start Outlook 2003:

“The add-in “C:\Program Files\Avast Antivirus\ashOutXt.dll” could not be installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair.”

I’ve tried Detect and Repair and it’s not helped. Can anyone suggest how I can get rid of this error?
