Hello!

avast! External Control (AEC) is not supported by Alwil, so don’t expect any help from them.
Email me instead next time (use the About button in AEC to see my mail )
Also read included Readme file which explains all features in AEC.
Snap from readme file…
Web Shield Power Mode
Enabling this feature forces avast! Web Shield provider to scan HTTP traffic from all programs. This is much more secure, but also much less compatible.
There has been many problems with several firewalls (like Zone Alarm), but if you never had any problems or you’re using Windows Firewall you can try it.
Problems may be encountered in form of partially rendered web pages or total HTTP traffic block (unable to browse any pages).
Very problematic programs are still automatically excluded by Alwil Software.
Recommended for advanced users.
Web Shield Power Mode is only supported under Windows 2000/XP using transparent mode (without browser proxy settings).
(default and recommended is unchecked)
