the malware came in the form of a game update. avast detects and blocks the virus but not before it deletes registry keys of the security center, firewall, defender, and few other stuff. I tried restoring the keys manually but cannot be sure 100% of all the stuff deleted. Had to do a repair install.
virus problems are normally posted in the virus and worms section 
anyway run quick scan with this and post the log
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always update so you have the latest signatures before you scan
click on the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
if you want a deeper check, then follow this guide and attach the logs
