Avast is Falsely Reporting that PnkBstrB.exe is a Virus this File.
Both PnkBstrB.exe and its counterpart PnkbstrA.exe are a Crucial parts of Punkbuster http://www.evenbalance.com/ Software used in Many online Games for Cheat Detection and banning of Cheaters from those Games.
Avast Needs to Fix this Asap and add an Exclusion into teh software to Prevent Punkbuster files from being detected.
Hello, could you please post here direct download link(s)? I check few links and no false positive alert was trigged. I found just one file http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/1ff449fc707d231db80d4d3cc01ea32c reported as false positive alert with name “PnkBstr*”. To fix false positive alerts, we need falsely detected files.
I’am afraid, that prevent before false positive alerts will be difficult. There are no file version info, no digital signature and code has lot of obfuscation… there is nothing how to classify, that file is PnkBstr*.
