"avast! File System Shield has blocked a threat" Pop-up Spam

avast is spamming me with a pop up window that says a threat has been blocked. The pop up makes a noise as it is generated 51 times, then rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

That looks to be in an email… Have you emptied your deleted e-mail folders ?

Look at the entire file path, do you recognise that e-mail

Hello and thanks for your responses.

The “entire path” looks like a foreign language to me. I do not recognize that email.

I use gmail and hotmail through the web and have nothing in spam, deleted, or trash folders.

I do not see that email file in the directory specified in the path specified.

I sent all my spam emails to trash (gmail) and deleted (outlook) and then deleted the latter. After reboot, problem no longer persists.

Thank you for your help. I will brush up on security with some of your resources here as a result of stopping by.

Best, N.

One of your e-mail had an HTML attachment or a code within the e-mail which was triggering the Avast alert, not a usual occurrence

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
