I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem I’m having. avast keeps picking up a potential threat with the file C:/WINDOWS/system32/screensaver/screensaver.exe I searched for this file in it’s location and could not find it manually or with the search function. All hidden files are viewable and I’m convinced the file doesn’t exist on my computer. avast however, keeps picking it up and when I click ANY action, move to chest, delete, repair, ignore, it keeps popping up until I just X out of the warning box. Help? Thank you!
It has to exist or how could it be scanned. It is possible that it is hidden by another application.
If you choose move to chest, it should be sat in the chest, is it in the chest ?
Xing out the warning doesn’t do anything and the re-detection would tend to indicate it is being replaced, possibly by the process also hiding it ?
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).

Don’t worry about reported tracking cookies they are a minor issue and not one of security, allow SAS to deal with them though. - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie.
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.
As I said, it existed, and is also probably hidden and possibly recreated by another process. So running the other applications may find what is that other process.
