I have this problem with avast and firefox. I had avast internet security trial installed, but I didn’t like it, so I uninstalled. Ever since I have problems with firefox not connecting to pages and firefox.exe remains in windows task manager under processes when I try to close it. I have to manually click on it in task manager and forcefully close it. Chrome is on the other hand working fine…
There’s also problem with registration of avast 7 free…error every time.
Can this problem be fixed or I have to format my disk and reinstall windows? Oh…btw it’s windows 7 64-bit enterprise
Nothing helps…I uninstalled avast, cleared the data and firefox still isn’t working…btw…when I installed avast for the second time, I god this BSOD and automatic shut down of system…since then this happens, but only to firefox…
I did that, but that’s another funny story…I had 2 instances installed: one regular and one nightly…and regular works perfectly, nightly which I used before this happened doesn’t. Regular 10.0.2 works without quirks, nightly doesn’t close down (remains in the task manager) and no pages would open (everything looks blocked). I uninstalled both, re-installed and exactly the same problem with night still occurs, regular works fine.
Any suggestions? Whatever I do, I cannot use nightly and it’s not the issue in installation, because I manually deleted the folder upon uninstall
