avast firewall blocking internet access

Hi, I have the latest avast internet security 7.0.1426 windows 7 ultimate.
My time warner cable internet started going on and off, I rebooted everything unplugged, restarted you name it I tried it-nothing worked.
Then I turned off my avast firewall and everything is fine-turned on the windows firewall and still works fine.
How do I fix the avast firewall?

You could try to set your firewall in Ask-Mode. Maybe some necessary program is blocked automatically.

I tried that-how do I go back to free avast without all the internet security/firewall?

Before you go back to the free avast, you could look at your firewall rules if there is something needfull blocked.

You can change AIS firewall profile to Home and run internet browser(firefox,IE…) again. I,m quite sure AIS will create best settings for you.
