I’m using Avast Free and ever since the Firewall was added it blocks my Blue Iris even though I’ve listed it as an exception. I’ve resorted to using Windows 11 Firewall because it’s not blocking my Blue Iris exe. Any suggestions on how I could keep Avast’s Firewall from blocking Blue Iris?
Can you be more specific on exactly where you are trying to connect to, I have been able to connect to the home page of hXXps://blueirissoftware.com/ (the XX is to prevent the link being active). Using my default browser Firefox.
I guess I wasn’t very clear and maybe misleading. With the Avast Firewall enabled it’s blocking my Blue Iris mobile apps on my iPhone & iPad to connect to my blue Iris software on my computer which manages my IP cameras. With Avast Firewall disabled I can connect to my cameras and also using Windows Firewall 11 I can connect, just not with Avast Firewall.
It may well be not just the Firewall but also the Network Inspector or how they work together.
If your network isn’t trusted. Check your Firewall settings and within that the Network section. I suspect that it isn’t trusted.
I have to admit that for me these two functions aren’t very clear in how they work together.
At one point I dropped back to the windows firewall, uninstalled the Firewall component and restarted my system. But kept getting You are unprotected in the Avast tray icon.
I reinstalled the Avast Firewall component and reset everything back to default settings. My WiFi connections Android phones and tablets are able to use my routers WiFi connection.
DavidR you were right about my network not being trusted so I enabled that and will see if that solves the issue. Thanks!
You’re welcome.
