Avast firewall blocks AvastSvc?

Help please. I have read through the past few days to see if this is a problem for other users. After current Windows updates, system running very slow. Several processes gobbling up cpu, so I did a repair of Avast. Big mistake. Now Avast doesn’t even run.
I like many others who have posted about the WM I issue is the reason I used the repair feature.
Issues always seem to a rise when Avast updates the program version. I am a 6 year user of Avast… but I can’t believe we are always told the same things as a fix.
This program update is the worst! This is my 2nd posting since new update. If anyone can help me get my PC running right again please.

Perform a clean installation of the latest version (2015.10.2.2214) and see if the problem is solved.
It is known that a update sometimes is causing problems.

Could it be a windows update problem

I am checking all that right now in safe mode. All updates looking fine. Interesting what I did find. When I did the repair, it now shows my Avast It says it now has 5 users. Prior to this there were only 3. One of the 2 extras is myself (as standalone w/o administrative permission.) So it (avast) won’t allow me to even open the program tto attempt and do the normal fixes

Doing as you said… but since my cpu is running this strange avast at break neck speed, it’s going to take me 45 minutes to download Avast IT Security.
I am gonna blow a fan out on my system at this rate.

Download the tool in safe mode with networking

Well now this is a new one. Avast won’t uninstall? Now what?

How are you trying to uninstall ?
If you are getting a error message, what does it say ?

Attempting to uninstall. No error msg. Just the opposite. Doing as directed by Essex boy ( I have done this process many times before ). I have no clue
.

HELP. Avast will not uninstall. HELP!

Finally, I reversed the procedure and Avast is gone. Now I just need to figure out why my modem shows connection to my network… but it’s not
I am beginning to really be annoyed with Avast

OK another day. Next step to do a clean install. The Avast IT Security I downloaded exactly as you instructed. To be on the safe side and to correct the issue permanently, I am checking to be sure this is a valid Avast program.
Logged on in safe mode and looking at the execution file. It says under the general tab at the bottom that " this file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer ". My question: is this normal? Don’t want more issues.

If you used my link it is direct from the Avast servers

Yes I definitely used your link. You are the most effective help on these forums! I think… we are doing fine. However, the problem others are having with spiking of the CPU usage every 20-30 seconds because of the WMI process, is happening here too.
I’ll let it rest until tomorrow, then I will run another Malwarebytes test , a full virus scan and also a spyware utility from bleepingcomputers.com.
Thank you again so much. Not even sure what was causing the most distressing issue, but seems to be resolves.

WMI has been the cause of a lot of problems but, not just with Avast. A quick web search returns plenty of topics on this

Happy Monday (NOT). Here we go again! That may well be the case with the WMI, however, every time now I reboot something else is amiss.
New Issues: #1-- it shows I have 2 devices connected (I only have one). I use Kapersky on other one.
#2–in my Firewall under application rules, it shows maybe 12 total (between 8 Microsoft, 2 Adobe,1 CCleaner and 1or 2 Google and that’s about it.) Then when I go to networking all the different applications are running. I have no way of controlling the connections. Along with this issue, it says I am not receiving streaming updates in my stats portion.
#3 Friday I purchased the VPN and I don’t know why I bothered. They took my money immediately)— but no license number.
#4 AND it shows 5 Avast processes running–yet only 3 are connected to a service.
Please help as these annoyances with Avast have put me over a month behind in my work.

Intel Core2Duo E4500/Win7 HomePremium SP1/ Avast IT Security 2015 10.2.2214/Firefox 36.0, NoScript,AdBlockPlus/MalwareBytes AntiMalware Free/CCleaner (all updated)

So sorry. I didn’t mean to sound so mean. I’ve read several other posts; many having similar issues. I will check back tomorrow to see if these issues have fixes.
Have a nice evening all.
