this problem begun only today i think after the last update

up !!!

Just to assure you you aren’t being ignored, it is more likely that those who have already viewed the topic don’t have this problem or don’t have any suggestion.

I don’t use the avast firewall, but there are different areas that you can set it to, Home, Work or Public (or wording like that). Depending on what you have set it up to use, that may well stop ping connections.

Which area have you set the avast firewall to ?
Try switching to a different one or Home and see if that allows ping.

Windows ping works for me, using AIS. I am connected thru a NAT router, and the connection is marked as a “Work” connection.

still nothing has changed , i will try to re-install

I would try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and select Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Uninstall/Change and select Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.

i re-installed avast and the problem was solved

thank you all

You’re welcome, glad that you now have it resolved.

the problem rises again after today’s update please i need another solve without re-install
